Father’s Day is right around the corner and dads are notoriously hard to shop for.

I don’t know about you, but shopping for my dad is a pain in the buttox. I can barely manage one gift idea a year for his birthday, let alone covering Father’s Day and Christmas.

Luckily for you, this year I did a wee bit of research and found some great Father’s Day gift ideas we can all hand over to dad. So get ready to surprise dad, regardless of your budget:

Father’s Day Gifts Under $50

BBQ Brush

If you’re dad is the type to BBQ up a storm in the back yard, get him a little something to keep his BBQ in tip-top shape.

Something like the Weber Grill Brush is a great gift idea if you’ve got a small budget. Especially if your dad is a grill master (or if he thinks he’s one).

An Action Flick

If your dad is a film lover or just enjoys an action flick than one of the best Father’s Day gift ideas is a great flick. I’d personally recommend the two-film John Wick collection. Word to the wise, you probably shouldn’t tell him how attractive you think Keanu Reeves is #DaughterProTip.

Other father-worthy flicks include the Godfather Series, the Rocky Collection, anything Star Wars or even Game of Thrones. Or if you really love him, throw him a six-month subscription to one of your favourite subscription services—my pick is Amazon Prime Video so he can catch up on The Man in the High Castle before the final season airs.

Books, Books & More Books!

A great book is always a fantastic gift idea. If your dad is into reading and likes a little sci fi in his life, then I would highly recommend the Game of Thrones book series (even if he’s seen the TV show already).

But be careful what you pick when it comes to the book Father’s Day gift, I 100% got my dad a conspiracy theories book last Christmas and now he can’t stop telling me which one’s are legit or not. ?

A Stylish Billfold

One of my favourite Father’s Day gift ideas is a wallet, bill fold or money clip. I like it because it’s a nice gift but it isn’t something outwardly flashy.

If you’re not sure what to go with, something simple and classy like the Fossil Men’s Quinn Bill Fold Money Clip is the safe choice.

Business Casual Work Day

If your dad rolls it old school with a black leather, boxy briefcase, perhaps it’s time to give him a little assistance spicing up his work attire.

This bad boy can fit up to a 15.6 inch laptop, has nine pockets for organizing inside and out, and zips up to keep things inside. Plus it’s durable and waterproof.

This is one of the best Father’s Day gift ideas if your dad needs a wardrobe update but you’re not up for clothing shopping for him.

Casual Shoes

This might seem like a strange choice, but one Christmas my mother picked up a like pair of shoes for my father last-minute and he’s basically wore them until they fell off. He absolutely love them.

So the Tommy Hilfiger Men’s Dathan Boat Shoe is a great choice if you’re looking for something practical for your gift. While it might not be one of his known Father’s Day wishes, chances are he’ll genuninely enjoy them!

A Nice Watch

Watches are another nice little gift for dad. Luckily with them, you don’t have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to treat good ol’ dad.

Something like the Fossil Men’s Machine Smoke Watch is a classy and sleek design, but it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Fathers Day Gifts Under $500

Wireless Headphones

If your dad has a long commute to work or is simply a fan of music (or random YouTube videos like mine) then a pair of Bose SoundLink Wireless Headphones is a perfect Father’s Day gift for him.

Based on what I hear and by a bit of my own research, Bose makes some of the best wireless headphones on the market. They are well worth the price.

That said, if you’re looking to be the favourite, check out the Bose QuietComfort Wireless Headphones. Great sound and no interruptions.

Waterproof Digital Camera

If your dad is a traveller or amateur YouTuber a GoPro HERO7 is a great Father’s Day gift idea. This camera is a great model for an active guy who loves to get out door and shoot some video.

It’s got HyperSmooth video stabilization and the ability to shoot great time war. You can also live stream and take photos.

When is Father’s Day?

Father’s Day this year is June 16, 2019. However, this isn’t International Father’s Day. For example, Australia’s Father’s Day is on the first Sunday of September, and Catholic Europe celebrates it on March 19.

How do I pick the perfect Father’s Day gift?

Father’s Day isn’t all about the gifts. In fact, there have been plenty of years that I’ve skipped a gift for good ol’ dad simply because I didn’t have the cash. When it comes down to it, it really is the thought that counts.

What’s a great alternative to a Father’s Day Gift?

If you can’t find a great gift for dad or it simply isn’t your style, a great gift alternative is to take dad out on the town—take him out for a nice Father’s Day brunch or dinner and spend some time with the old man. Nine times out of ten that’s one of his top Father’s Day wishes.
