There are some truly great FabFitFun products that I’ve had a chance to experience over the past year. And since I love this subscription box service so much, I wanted a chance to share some of my favourites!
At the beginning of this year, I wanted to do something that was strictly for me. Something that might be considered frivolous and perhaps considered fiscally responsible to some, but the purpose of this was really to treat myself. So I signed up for a FabFitFun subscription box.
One of my girlfriends had a FabFitFun Welcome Box so I paid thee $5 USD fee for shipping and got my first box. Two full boxes later, I wanted to share some of my favourite FabFitFun products that I’ve gotten thus far.
Cute FabFitFun Bags
Bags are one of my favourite accessories, though it’s only been in the past few years that I’ve realized it. I enjoy bags so much because they can really add a flourish to an outfit and bring together a look.
I’ve received three bags from FabFitFun so far, and I consider them all favourites, but for very different reasons. Here’s why:
The Deux Lux Demi Backpack is by far my favourite FabFitFun bag, which I’m judging simply because I’ve used it the most out of all of them. What I like so much about it is the hands-free experience of the backpack bag.
This bag is great for quick or longer trips where I don’t have to cart around my laptop. It fits my iPad, wallet and other essentials while staying lightweight. This is also an incredibly handy bag to throw empty into my carry-on so I have something smaller to carry once I reach my destination.
This backpack purse is chic but casual, perfect for a jaunt to the store or a steamy date night at the theatre.
Summer & Rose Navy Diamond Tote
The Summer & Rose diamond tote is a great size for a grab-and-go bag. I’ve used it in a number of scenarios from heading to the library, carting around my electronics while camping and even heading to pick up a few groceries.
While this is no doubt one of my favourite FabFitFun products, it’s not the best choice when it comes to security or organization. It’s an open-top tote bag with no real enclosure.
All-in-all, I do really love this bag. If you’re in the market for a tote, I would highly recommend it.
Summer & Rose Crossbody
This crossbody bag became one of my first favourite FabFitFun products. It impressed upon me so much because I had been looking for almost this exact bag for over a year when it arrived. I wanted a simple, classic black crossbody with no bells and whistles, and Summer & Rose delivered.
This bag has a full flap tuck enclosure with one big pocket, though there is a small card pocket inside the bag. It fits my phone, headphones, a small card wallet or change purse and a few makeup essentials.
If you’re looking for the perfect date night crossbody bag I would highly recommend getting your hands on one of these bad boys.
FabFitFun Beauty Products
A lot of the FabFitFun products are beauty-related. Face masks, hand creams, polish—the works. There are a ton of great beauty trinkets, but these are my favourites:
Spongellé Boxed Flower
I have terribly sensitive skin and psoriasis all over my legs and the Spongellé Boxed Flower has been a lifesaver. This sponge already has soap on it, and it works wonders when it comes to cleaning off dry skin.
It has a gentle solution, that helps to refresh and clean my skin without irritating it. If you’re looking for a sponge solution for your next DIY spa day, I would highly recommend it.
AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream
My welcome box had a ton of my favourite FabFitFun products in it, and the AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream was no exception.
I find that typing and writing make my hands particularly dry and I’m constantly moisturizing my hands. This product makes a truly amazing hand cream and it’s probably one of the best that I’ve ever used.
When I replaced this, I got a HUGE bottle of it from the Hudson’s Bay Company, it was the only place I could find it in Canada. It’s pricey, but I can tell you it really does moisturize your skin.
FabFitFun Hair Products
Curly-haired diva here—perhaps “diva” is the wrong term but I do have wild, curly hair, and I’m always looking for great products to help me care for it. The FabFitFun products for hair over the past few months have been amazing, here are my favourites:
OUAI Leave in Conditioner
As soon as I got the OUAI Leave in Conditioner it moved to the front of the line for curly hair favourites. This product is amazing for helping me detangle my crazy curly hair.
This is one of the FabFitFun products that I use on a daily basis, and I absolutely love it. Everything from the smell, how light it is and generally how it makes my hair smooth and shiny.
This product has become my top go-to product, and if you’re looking for a great leave-in conditioner I would highly recommend it!
Invisibobble Hair Bands
Another one of the fantastic FabFitFun products for curly hair is the Invisibobble Original Duo Pack. I originally couldn’t picture how a hunk of plastic could really be easier to manage with curly hair but it turns out this seriously is the best type of hairband.
Besides the fact that they’re easy in and easy out, is the fact that they’re truly hidden in your hair. I wear a top-knot most days while working because I find my hair to be distracting and in my way, and having a hairband that slips in and hides in my hair works perfectly.
If you’re sick of getting your hair tangled using typical hair elastics, I would highly recommend the Invisibobble.
Living Proof Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream
This is the second of the daily FabFitFun products that’s been added to my hair regime. It’s a great light styling cream that adds a little hair styling but still lets my hair dry (without it looking greasy).
The Living Proof styling cream does, as promised by the name, reduce the amount of frizz in your hair, which is particularly welcome when it comes to curly hair. If you’re looking to style on a daily basis without too much fuss, I would highly recommend it.
Should you sign up for FabFitFun?
I’m fast becoming a subscription box fanatic, I have both a FabFitFun subscription and the quarterly Causebox, plus there are a ton more on my list! So far I’ve genuinely enjoyed getting the boxes, it’s like getting a quarterly present for myself. While I often know some of the products coming, it’s also a surprise for me!
That said, it’s not a necessary expense. With that in mind, make sure you can reasonably afford the quarterly $50 USD box fee.
If you have the disposable income and you want to get a little something for yourself, then I would highly recommend it!
