My FabFitFun Fall 2019 box has arrived which means it’s time for a new review. From fashion accessories to beauty products, here’s my quick-and-dirty overview of what I got and why I love it.
If you’re a regular reader of The Single Girl’s Guide to Adulting then you know how much I love my subscription boxes. If I had the financial capacity, I’d probably have WAY more subscriptions. But alas, I do not.
My box shipped at the end of August and arrived just over a week later, but unfortunately, I was SO BUSY last month I didn’t get a chance to review anything until now. But I finally had a chance to try it and I’m stoked to share what I got this season!
FabFitFun Fall 2019 Box
The total value of my box this season was $304. Note that I did add one extra customization (the Twine Cheese Board with Plate), so my box cost was $65 USD instead of $50 USD.
Ultra Soft Fringe Scarf by Plush
I am LOVING the Ultra Soft Fringe Scarf. I can confirm that it is ultra-soft and can withstand the cold Canadian fall (which includes snow for those of you wondering).
This cute scarf has a fashionable pattern that mixes white, grey, black and even a little bit of brown (it’s hard to tell in images) and is definitely warm and cuddly. What I like about this colour combination is that you can wear this with a black, brown, blue or even white coat… seriously though, who wears a white coat?
If you’re looking for something to help keep the cold off your neck, and you want something that’s cute and fashionable, then I would highly recommend this Plush scarf. This bad boy is worth $75, making the FabFinFun Fall 2019 Box worth it because I love it.
Slim Striped Wallet by Kut From The Cloth
I absolutely love the Kut From the Cloth wallet that came in the FabFitFun Fall 2019, in fact, I chose it. But it turns out that it is so easy to get stuff on.
I’ve been using the wallet for the past two or so weeks and I’ve already managed to get scuffs and marks all over it. Seriously, almost anything that touches it scuffs it.
And, unfortunately, it’s not easy to clean. I’ve tried everything from water and a soft cloth, to Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and it’s impossible to get anything off without rubbing off the die.
So, all-in-all, while this wallet really is adorable, I simply can’t recommend it. It’s WAY too easy to scuff, rough-up and ultimately ruin! ??
Hair Towel Wrap by Afterspa
I already have a hair towel wrap that I love and use all the time, so I was thrilled to get the Afterspa hair towel in the FabFitFun fall 2019 box. These hair towels are perfect for travel or at home, and I use mine all the time.
What I love about hair towels is that they’re perfect for all sorts of hair, whether you have a nice short do, or a hip-length curly mess like me. They wrap your hair tightly, and tuck it up while you’re getting dressed and ready so it’s not sopping wet when it comes time to brush through it.
The other thing that I love about these is that they dry really quickly and are easy to clean. But, the one thing that I noticed about the Afterspa versus my $8 towel from Winners is that I have to wash it on a more frequent basis. But I love that it has a button on the back that’s easy to secure into.
All-in-all, I would highly recommend one of these towels. Especially if you’re like me and have hair that takes a long time to dry and you leave it until last and don’t want to wear a thick, heavy towel around the house.
Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask Pack by Wander Beauty
Out of all the things that were in the FabFitFun fall 2019 box, this was the thing I was least inspired by. I’m not sure why, but eye masks seem silly to me, BUT the Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask box that came was actually pretty sweet.
I threw one of these bad boys on when I was having an at-home spa day, soaking in the tub listening to a podcast and my eyes felt surprisingly refreshed.
In the fall box, you got one box of these which had six eye mask pairs. And if you’re someone who has lots of under-eye stress, I would highly recommend getting them, especially considering the whole box was worth $25.
Damage Ready Daily Hair Repair by Aveda
If you read The Single Girl’s Guide to Adulting, you know I have long, curly hair that ALWAYS gets tangled and knotted. So naturally, I’m always looking for great products to make my hair more manageable. That’s where the Damage Ready Daily Hair Repair by Aveda comes in.
This AMAZING hair product came in my FabFitFun Fall 2019 box and I love it. You work a bit of this into the roots of your hair and brush it through. It helps to push a comb through your hair (or, more specifically, my hair) and makes it softer and smoother going through.
If you have long, tangly hair, especially if it’s curly, I would highly recommend giving this leave-in product a go. It’ll make your hair WAY more manageable!
Exfoliating Sugar Cubes in Juice Cleanse by Haper & Ari
The Haper & Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes smell really nice and they work really well, but I learned the hard way that the salt (or sugar) kernels are quite right and big, and if you have psoriasis you need to use with caution!
That said, when used on skin that doesn’t have psoriasis patches on it, these are great. And like I said, they smell amazing. If you’re looking for a fun exfoliating cube for an at-home spa night, I would highly recommend it.
Body Souffle by Human & Kind
The body souffle by Human & Kind is a smooth lotion that not only makes your skin soft but is vegan and cruelty-free. It’s a heavenly wear, though I admit that the smell is not usually what I go for.
This lotion is made with a blend of apricot oil and shea butter, so it has a more fruity smell. I can attest to the fact that this vegan lotion leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft, even by using the tiniest little bit.
If you’re looking for a great vegan skincare product, this lotion is worth every penny (even though we don’t have those here in Canada) of it’s $18 price tag!
Lava Magik by The Better Skin Co.
I was a little skeptical of the Lava Magik cleanser by The Better Skin Co. because my skin, especially on my face, can be so sensitive. But I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
This cleanser really is multi-purpose, you can use it as a daily cleanser, an every-few-days cleanser or a once in a while mask. It leaves your skin feeling refreshed and smooth, and I personally use it an average of twice a week.
If you’re looking for a great product Lava Magik is well worth the $32 price tag and will help keep your skin looking healthy and refreshed!
Twine Cheese Board & Plate
I admit that the one thing I most certainly DIDN’T need was another cheese plate. I have one or two (or three or four) already, and limited cupboard space. But when I saw the Twine Cheese Board & Plate I couldn’t help myself. So I added it on to my FabFitFun Fall 2019 Box…
And I’m so glad I did because it’s adorable. It comes with two gold-finished cheese knives, a small wooden board and a removable ceramic plate. It’s perfect for the solo lady making themselves a charcuterie board for dinner after a long day of work (it’s totally acceptable to eat said charcuterie with a glass of bubbly).
If you’re looking for a cute little cheese board to add to your serving mix, especially if you don’t already have a set of cheese knives, I would highly recommend it. Especially considering it’s totally affordable at $30.
Is FabFitFun worth it? The verdict is in
If you’re reading this post, chances are you’re interested in trying FabFitFun out but aren’t sure if it’s right for you. So, if you can afford it (that being the absolute base requirements) then here are my top three reasons for trying FabFitFun:
- You will 100% get awesome products that you would have never purchased yourself (or even knew about) and, if you’re anything like me you’ll absolutely LOVE them. Off the top of my head I can think of four FabFitFun products that have become part of my regular routine (and every one of them is worth the price of the box).
- It’s the PERFECT treat for yourself. There’s nothing quite as awesome as checking the mail after a long day to find out that you have a package that’s just for you… it always seems to arrive at just the right time.
- You get an awesome discount by using my affiliate link with the code “PUMPKINSPICE” you’ll get $10 off which will make your first box that much sweeter!
Plus, if you find out you don’t love FabFitFun down the line, you can cancel. Just like that. So, for $40 it seems like quite a great deal—especially considering the box I just got was well worth its cost!
